Luxury jewellers Canturi reported that they sell platinum and white diamonds Alphabet necklaces for up to $2500.

A Chanel spokeswoman said Hewitt's Swaroski crystal studs, which come in at just $269, are in high demand.

The move to diamond and designer gear is a world away from Hewitt's old signature look of hoop earrings and other discount gear.

Jewellery chain store favourite, Diva, said hoop earrings from $12 were still a big seller.

Her headband could be bought at Diva from $15.
