This season, the eclectic selection it unveils includes Caracol, designed exclusively for the young set, which debuted at Baselworld this year, and has a charming Baby Caracol line too,' said Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas.

Captivating Caracol

 

Caracol's spread of jewellery creations for youth, shakes itself free of every restrictive and traditional veneer and notion of jewellery and dances in celebration of shackles broken once and for all.

It is to the credit of its designer that a collection dedicated to freedom, utterly captures its audience. A truly delightful paradox of sorts that spreads jewellery whose highlight are circular links, now spread out row by row to form a bracelet: next fanning out in a circle as a necklace, or linking hands to form a long and glorious gypsy chain of sorts, then gathering to form a flower motif for a ring: and later teaming to form a drop earring of magic! Its Yoyo line juxtaposes concentric circles of different dimensions in pink gold and black gold with diamonds, topaz and rubies.

Caracol joyfully teams white gold with yellow gold and rose gold, sprinkling its rings with arcs of tiny diamonds, or at times, even dotting it with a choice of amethysts, topaz and garnets that twinkle at you. Interestingly, enamel work too features in delightful 'heart locks' adorning a necklace and drop earrings, with a charm bracelet jingling a pack of enameled playing cards with abandon.

The Baby Caracol collection sees a charming line up of clowns, animals and other figurines designed as pendants and other jewellery for the little ones.

The grand trident

Exulting in a display of grand artistry, Roberta Porrati offers a trio of collections starting with the Fashion Collection, which is inspired by the woman who lives life to the fullest and who spiritedly takes on risks and challenges, neither daunted by the ghost of her past or the fanciful lure of the future. This trident of collections spills out dazzling lines such as Las Vegas in mysterious black South Sea pearls and diamonds, epitomizing the famous American city's glamour status in pendants, earrings and rings; the enthralling Sibilla featuring clusters of diamonds 'glued' together to hold sumptuous white South Sea pearls in white gold and fashioned as earrings, pendants and rings; the Fragola line of elongated, ellipse-like colourful pendants with spirals of gem stones; and Liberty, a selection of earrings shaped by arcs of white, rose and yellow gold dotted richly with diamonds and at times multi-coloured gems.

And while Clessidra's glamorous earrings depict elongated strips of yellow and rose gold held together like a bunch, the Liberty line of art deco creations brings white gold and black stones with diamonds that dazzle in fish-shaped pendants, earrings and rings.
